Antistatic Masterbatches

PRODUCT FEATURE:-

Polymers, especially those used in the manufacturing of films and fibers, are prone to building up static charges due to their large surface area-to-volume ratio. This static charge buildup can result in various undesirable consequences in the final product. Often, this also leads to many issues during processing, like difficulties in the winding films or melt-spun fibers, the clumping of powders during transport, and the adhesion of films during manufacturing.

At Packqube, we offer a solution to combat these challenges with our specialized antistatic masterbatches. Specifically designed for PE and PP applications, our masterbatches effectively control surface resistivity and ensure that the static charges are kept in check.

Why use Antistatic Masterbatches

Most of the plastic materials tend to build up static charges in all the cycles of processing and handling. These static charges can be problematic when these charges are accumulated. There are many effects of static charge accumulation & discharge.

1. Dust particles are attracted towards the plastic product.

2. Flamable chemicals and powders packed in plastic containers or bags have huge risk of electrostatic discharge.

3. Thin plastic items stick together because of static attraction.

4. Electronic items may get damaged by the static charges in plastic packaging materials.

Antistatic masterbatch solutions are used to eliminate these risks. These are masterbatches formulated using anti static additive masterbatch technology, usually based on fatty acid ester types, that neutralize surface charges on the polymer.

Antistatic Masterbatches includes both migrating & non-migrating types. It functions usually in a molecular or multi-molecular layer and attracts water molecules from the atmosphere. The water lowers the surface resistivity from the approximate value of 1014 – 1015 ohms for most polymers (including styrenics and polyolefinics) to 1011- 108 ohms . Normal addition levels of the 10% active content antistatic masterbatch is 3%-5%.

We offer anti static additive masterbatch based on amine derivative agents which performs even under low humid conditions, something many generic antistatic options fail at. Moreover, our blend of multiple antistatic additives creates a long-lasting antistatic masterbatch solution, particularly useful for durable packaging and electronic component housings.

When looking for specialized solutions, choosing the right plastic raw material company ensures better performance, compatibility, and consistency across product batches. A well-formulated antistatic masterbatch is especially critical in industries like electronics, pharmaceuticals, and food packaging, where static can’t be left unchecked.

Whether you’re working with film extrusion or injection molding, working with a plastic raw material company that understands material behavior and environmental exposure is essential to getting reliable antistatic performance.
